Frequently Asked Questions
What wire hook-ups do I need?
You will need 7 prong round flat pin end on your truck and a electric brake control box we must verify working condition of the brake control before we will offer our lease and a hitch that is rated min of 10,000 pounds. Actual hookup to customer's vehicle is to be performed by the customer. Mickelson Trailer/Storage will not provide any parts or make repairs to customers vehicle free of charge. We can make arrangements to have repaired.
This dump trailer can only be hooked up to 2-5/16" ball hitch that is rated over 10,000 pounds.
Note: Mickelson Storage/Trailers requires that your vehicle be at least 3/4 ton rating. You will also be requires to show a certificate of insurance at the signing of the rental agreement with Mickelson Trailers as being insured for the duration of the rental.
What do I need to rent?
If you or your company have established a charge account we follow the guidelines provided by your company.
For an individual or company that does not have an account with us, we require, at minimum, a valid drivers license or equivalent photo ID, certificates of insurance payable to Mickelson Storage/Trailers in advance before we will rent to any company or person.
What if the trailer is stolen?
First file a police report, then provide Mickelson Storage/Trailer with a copy of the report. The customer is responsible for any stolen or missing equipment or parts.
Can I loan this trailer out?
No, renter shall lease or loan any trailer to any person, firm, or cooperation. Renter shall at all times remain immediate control or supervision of renter.
Who is reasonable for tire damage?
The customer will be responsible for all tire damage or flats. Normal wear will be the responsibility of Mickelson Storage/Trailer. Mickelson Tire can assist you in obtaining service.
What about unusual wear or damage?
All trailers will be examined upon return. The customer will be charged for any unusual wear or damage at a shop labor rate of $60.00 per hour plus parts to repair.
What are your store hours?
We are open:
Monday - Friday: 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Saturday: 7:30 a.m. - Noon
Sunday: ClosedRental day start at 7:30 a.m. and ends at business close for operation day. Returns after hours will be subject to a $25.00 per hour charge up to 2 hours will then be charged a full day's rent.
No refunds on unused portions rental days.
Does Mickelson Tire deliver?
Yes, delivery is available. There is a charge based on the particular order and the distance to be traveled. We will be happy to quote this over and above the original rental agreement.
Can I reserve a trailer?
Yes. most of the time we will have the trailers you need in stock; however, during peak seasons it help to reserve several days in advance. We will be happy to take you reservations.
I really need a trailer, but you're closed. What do I do?
In case of an emergency, call (712) 732-1368 or (712) 732-4705. We will attempt to help you, but you may be charged a minimum of $30.00 for an after-hours fee. It could be more, depending on the request.
What do I do if the equipment breaks down?
The first thing you do is call us to make us aware there is a problem. At that time we will advise you what to do next.
Do I have to wash the equipment before I return it?
No. However, the dump trailers need to come back reasonably clean. We reserve the right to add cleaning charges if trailers are returned excessively muddy or soiled or the interior needs cleaned.
How do I pay for my rental?
We accept cash, checks, MasterCard, Discover,and Visa for payments of rentals. We do charge a 3% fee for credit card usage. If you would like us to bill your company, it is necessary to establish a charge account, so please ask. Deposits are accepted in all the forms above.
